It was after school and Mila hadn't decided on getting into her car and going home to where he family awaited her, well not really but she liked to think about it that way. He morning hadn't really gone to plan at all. She had been late since she had woke up later then she wanted to and her shower hadn't warmed up, so in result she had to take a cold one. So if others hadn't noticed her grumpy mood at all that day it was probably a good thing. She had been assigned detention for being late to her English class. Her teacher was such a hag some times, even though Mila had explained why she had been late, he teacher acted like she hadn't heard a word of it and wrote her up a pink slip. But it wasn't like she couldn't get out of her detention. Just explain it to her parents and they would call her out, they usually did. She would probably be on the phone with Jaiden tonight, him with his usual laugh and conversation about being there once himself.
But the thing with Mila was that she tried to put the past behind her, and anything she wasn't doing at that particular moment was the past to her. So she lay on one of the benches in the quad area, thinking up rhyme schemes in her head and softly reciting them to herself under her breath. She wondered why she wasn't at the beach instead. Too crowded. On a Friday with this weather the beach was the exact opposite of a place Mila would want to be, it was just too crowded for her liking. Closing her eyes she let the soft gust of wind blow dust and leaves, feeling it all cross over her face and not wanting it in her eyes. After the wind died down she opened her eyes again and sat up. Looking down at her grungy black converses. She thought that she needed new shoes, but the ones she had were just too comfortable to give up.
Placing her hands on each side of her body on the bench she looked around. There were a couple students sitting, scattered about in the lawn layed out in front of her. Other students, like herself, that didn't really want to go home yet.She looked up at the sky, squinting slightly by the brightness of it. Well the city sure kept true to its name, it was in fact only sunshine in the sky all the time. But soon she would leave it all behind and find somewhere new and more exciting to live. Well that was only after she graduated next year and saved up some money of her own.
